The Nigeria Football Federation have made a training camp decision that affects six Premier League players named in the country's squad list for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
Interim Nigeria boss Augustine Eguavoen has called up twenty-eight players for the training camp in the nation's capital, Abuja.
The Nigerian Federation have instructed all the invited players with the exception of the Premier League players to arrive the training camp on December 29, 2021.
Rangers duo Joe Aribo and Leon Balogun could have been part of the group of players to join the training camp next year but the Scottish Premiership meeting with Celtic earlier scheduled for January 2 has been postponed and shifted to February 2.
Watford duo William Troost-Ekong and Emmanuel Dennis, Leicester City pair Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi, Everton winger Alex Iwobi and Brentford midfielder Frank Onyeka should be available for their clubs' festive fixtures as they are expected to start arriving the training camp on January 3.
Barring any fresh development, Eguavoen will begin the training camp with a gathering of twenty-two players.
Villarreal, CD Leganes, SD Huesca and Almeria could delay the arrival of Chukwueze, Omeruo, Nwakali and Sadiq respectively as their clubs have matches on January 2-3.
