Middlesbrough ready to listen to offers for 2015 Nigeria U23 invitee
Published: November 22, 2021
Championship club Middlesbrough have reportedly put 2015 Nigeria U23 invitee Uche Ikpeazu on the market ahead of the January transfer window.
Football Insider says new Boro boss Chris Wilder has given the green light to the Anglo-Nigerian-Ugandan attacker to leave the Riverside Stadium in the coming months.
Middlesbrough are in the market for a center forward with Arsenal starlet Folarin Balogun on top of their wish list.
Signed from Wycombe Wanderers for a fee that could rise to one million pounds, Ikpeazu has gone from being an undisputed starter under former coach Neil Warnock to hardly featuring for Boro in recent weeks.
Since the start of this month, the Reading academy product has logged only three minutes in the Championship.
Having netted two goals in his first three matches for Boro, Ikpeazu has gone eleven games without finding the net.
Ikpeazu was named in the Dream Team VI's provisional squad for the 2015 U23 Africa Cup of Nations.
He has a valid contract with Middlesbrough until June 30, 2024.
