Super Eagles midfielder pictured training with Leicester City pre-Arsenal
Published: October 29, 2021
Wilfred Ndidi has bettered the odds of being involved in some capacity in the Premier League meeting between Leicester City and Arsenal on Saturday, lunchtime kickoff.
Nigerian Federation boss Amaju Pinnick hinted at the holding midfielder making the matchday squad for the clash at the King Power Stadium, while manager Brendan Rodgers didn't provide a fitness update on his number 25, saying at Friday's press conference that all the players are fit and healthy apart from Ricardo Pereira and Ayoze Perez.
Ndidi has stepped up his recovery from a hamstring-related injury and was pictured training with the Leicester City first teamers in their last workout before taking to the pitch against Arsenal.
The Super Eagle has not kicked a ball in a competitive fixture since he aggravated an injury in the Premier League clash vs Burnley on September 25.
Ndidi being back training on the grass will be sweet music to the ears of Nigeria manager Gernot Rohr, who is set to announce his roster for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Liberia and Cape Verde in the coming days.
Prior to his spell on the sidelines, the former Racing Genk star appeared in nine matches across all competitions for the Foxes - all of which he went the distance.
