Racing Genk manager John Van den Brom has hinted at removing Paul Onuachu as the penalty taker at the Limburg club after the Super Eagles striker missed his third spot-kick in four attempts on Sunday.
Onuachu was unsuccessful from the spot in the first half of Racing Genk's 3-0 rout of RFC Seraing on September 26, and the designated penalty taker missed twice in yesterday's loss to Sporting Charleroi.
Trailing 1-0, Genk were awarded a penalty in the 81st minute after the Nigeria international was fouled, he dusted himself down to take the kick but it was saved by goalkeeper Koffi.
The kick had to be taken again as the Sporting Charleroi glovesman had left his line too quickly but Onuachu still missed.
The former FC Midtjylland star hadn't missed any penalty he took for Genk before the start of this season, recording eleven goals from the spot.
"Last season we applauded Paul for his penalties. He was almost a certainty of success", Genk coach John Van den Brom told Eleven Sports via voetbal24 post-match.
"He had already missed one, and is now doing so twice. Three of his four penalties failed.

"We have to think about whether it is time to make someone else responsible for the penalties."
Onuachu scored 11 goals in his his first twelve matches of 2021-2022 but has failed to find the back of the net in his last three games.
