Ex-Manchester United winger Kehinde would have cost Barnsley N1.71billion

Championship club Barnsley were rebuffed in their attempts to sign talented Randers winger Tosin Kehinde in the recently concluded summer transfer window.

Their first offer worth 580,000 euros (approximately N355 million in Nigerian currency) was rejected because it did not meet Randers' valuation of the former Nigeria U23 invitee.

The Danish Superliga side didn't want to enter negotiations with Barnsley after receiving another offer worth 1.7 million euros (N1 billion) in the closing hours of the transfer window.

Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that Randers were prepared to do business if the English second-tier had made a bid in the region of 2.8million euros (N1.71billion) - the club's valuation of Kehinde.

The Manchester United-reared winger has less than two years remaining on his contract with the Danish Cup winners.

After a good 2020-2021 season that saw him involved in 10 goals from 32 games across all competitions, Kehinde has seen his stock rose and it remains to be seen if Barnsley will submit another bid when the market reopens in January 2022.

Danish giants FC Copenhagen also expressed their interest in the Anglo-Nigerian but failed to meet Randers' asking price for the 23-year-old.
