Watford sporting director confirms Udinese finalizing deal for Super Eagle as striker agrees move
Published: August 19, 2021Nigeria international Isaac Success is on the brink of completing a transfer to Italian Serie A club Udinese.
The BJ Foundation product is set to return to Udinese, who originally signed him in 2014 before he was loaned to then sister club Granada.
Success is set to become the fourth Nigerian player to depart the Hornets in the summer transfer window, following in the footsteps of Dapo Mebude, Tom Dele-Bashiru and Joseph Hungbo who were loaned out to AFC Wimbledon, Reading and Ross County respectively.
The 25-year-old has been declared surplus to requirements by Watford manager Xisco for the new season so much so that he was not involved in several pre-season games and was omitted from the matchday squad in their Premier League opening day win versus Aston Villa.
Isaac Success' bonafide intermediary has exclusively informed allnigeriasoccer.com that the 2013 U17 World Cup winner has now agreed to re-join Udinese and the paperwork is being sorted out at the moment, something which has been echoed by Watford sporting director Cristiano Giaretta.
Asked to confirm if Success is joining Udinese, Giaretta told allnigeriasoccer.com on Thursday afternoon : "We are still working on it".
Success was Watford's record signing when he joined the club in the summer of 2016 for a fee of €15million.
