Chelsea reach agreement with Belgian club for the sale of Nigerian striker
Super Eagles hopeful Ike Ugbo will end his lengthy association with Chelsea in the coming days.

Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that Chelsea have reached an agreement with Belgian First Division A team Racing Genk for the sale of the former England youth international.

The latest bid put in by Racing Genk for the young attacker on Thursday, August 12 was accepted by the European champions, who have included a sell-on fee in the deal.

Only the final paperwork being sorted out is remaining for the deal to be completed.

Ugbo has pretty much agreed personal terms with the Belgian Cup winners and is expected to fly to Genk next week ahead of his unveiling.

The likes of PSV Eindhoven, Feyenoord, Anderlecht, Watford, Fulham and Besiktas had been in the running to sign Ugbo before Genk won the race for his signature.

He departs Chelsea without making his competitive debut for the Londoners but featured in friendly matches, most recently against Bournemouth, in which he scored the game-winning goal.

Ugbo mustered 17 goals in 34 appearances while on loan at Cercle Brugge in 2020-2021.
