Super Eagles hopeful omitted from Chelsea's squad list for UEFA Super Cup clash vs Villarreal
Published: August 07, 2021The official website of UEFA has published Chelsea's squad list for the Super Cup against Europa League winners Villarreal at the National Football Stadium at Windsor Park in Belfast on August 11.
Manager Thomas Tuchel has submitted a squad of 26 players to Europe's football governing body, comprising of four goalkeepers, ten defenders, nine midfielders and three attackers.
The German football tactician has given the biggest hint yet that Ike Ugbo is not in his plans for the forthcoming season after omitting the striker from the roster.
The Super Eagles hopeful was also left out of the squad for Chelsea's final two pre-season fixtures with Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
Ugbo has been linked with a permanent departure from Stamford Bridge before the window closes, with Racing Genk and PSV Eindhoven among his admirers.
Meanwhile, Faustino Anjorin,who has returned to full training after recovering from coronavirus, has been included in Chelsea's squad list to face Villarreal.
Aged 19, the Anglo-Nigerian is one of five players registered on the B List, the others being Lucas Bergstrom, Ethan Ampadu, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Armando Broja.
