Arsenal's Nigerian-born midfielder returns to training after recovering from coronavirus
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Tim Akinola has recently returned to training with his Arsenal U23 teammates after recovering from coronavirus.

The Nigerian-born midfielder was required to stay at home to self-isolate after testing positive for COVID-19.

Akinola has not participated in any of the two friendlies played by Arsenal U23s in pre-season so far, against non-league clubs Ebbsfleet United and Bromley, and has not been spotted training with the first team in pre-season.

In the off-season, the 20-year-old was rehabilitating from a groin injury he sustained in May which saw him miss the Gunners' last Premier League 2 match of 2020-2021.

Described as a competitive and combative midfielder, Akinola was one of the most used players in the Arsenal U21 and U23 squads last season and accumulated eight yellow cards in twenty-six appearances.

Signed from Huddersfield Town last summer, his deal with Arsenal expires at the end of the season but the club hold a two-year option on the Anglo-Nigerian.

Arsenal U23s begin the new season with a trip to the London Stadium, where they face West Ham on August 16.
