'A good pass' - Solskjaer hails Shoretire for the part he played in Man Utd's second goal vs Derby
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has praised Anglo-Nigerian teenager Shola Shoretire for the part he played in the second goal scored by Manchester United in a 2-1 win versus Derby County on Sunday afternoon.

The Norwegian football tactician made several changes at the break, including the introduction of Shoretire who was sporting a new jersey number, 47.

Facundo Pellistri doubled the advantage when he kept his cool, rounded the goalkeeper and slotted into the empty net after a lovely defence-splitting pass from Shoretire on the hour mark.

The Manchester United Young Player of the Year for 2020-2021 showed his intelligence to recognize that the Uruguayan was onside before picking him out with a through ball.

On United's second goal, Solskjaer told the official website of the Red Devils : "A very good goal.

"A good pass [from Shoretire] as you say, his first touch sets him up and he's very good at dribbling and he's composed, so there's no trouble going past the 'keeper. It thought he was bright."

Shoretire is aiming to force his way into the first team picture on a permanent basis in 2021-2022 after training with the squad in the second half of last season and playing three senior games.
