Photo confirmation : Versatile midfielder of Nigerian descent completes move to Manchester United Academy
Published: May 26, 2021Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that versatile Nigeria-eligible youngster 'Chibby' Chibuikem has completed a move to the academy team of English Premier League giants Manchester United.
He is the third Anglo-Nigerian player to be poached by the Red Devils in recent weeks after Joseph Akinsanya and Kobi Marsden-Umebuani.
Chibuikem is moving to the Old Trafford outfit from JNS Football, a grassroots club that helps young footballers find their way with the correct support and environment readying them for U9s.
He has been described by his minders as a box-to-box midfielder whose favourite position is the number 8 role and capable of playing in lots of positions.
Chibuikem's main goal is to impress Manchester United's academy coaches over the coming years as he bids to earn a scholarship with the club.
Maximilano Oyedele, Shola Shoretire and Dillon Hoogewerf who have Nigerian blood in their veins played competitive matches for Manchester United academy teams in the recently concluded season.
Shoretire is currently with the Manchester United first team in Poland ahead of Wednesday night's Europa League final against Villarreal.
