Snapped: Man Utd coach Solskjaer takes 17-year-old Nigeria-eligible striker to Poland for UEL final
2004-born striker of Nigerian descent, Shola Shoretire is in contention to feature in Wednesday's Europa League final between Manchester United and Villarreal at Stadion Energa Gdańsk.

Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has taken twenty-six players to Poland, with the Anglo-Nigerian making the cut.

With only 23 players permitted to be named in the matchday squad, the Norwegian football tactician must drop at least three players from the provisional roster at least two hours before kickoff.

Shoretire has been selected after impressing during Sunday's Premier League win at Wolverhampton Wanderers, where he replaced Amad Diallo for the final eight minutes.

The Manchester United Young Player of the Year is battling Edinson Cavani, Anthony Elanga, Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford for one of the starting shirts in attack.

It will be Shoretire's fifth squad involvement in the Europa League if selected to face Villarreal having made the gameday squads against Real Sociedad (home and away), and the home matches against AC Milan and Granada.

He became the youngest player in history to feature for Manchester United in European competition when he came off the bench against Real Sociedad on February 25.
