Man City's Win Over Aston Villa Hands Guardiola's Side EPL Title Hopes
The race for the 2020 /2021 English Premier League title and European spots is heating up.

The latest odds for the Premier League indicate that Man City is heavily favored to win this season. They are currently listed at -10000 (via Sportsbettingdime)

City's dominance continues in the wake of Manchester United's resurgence who on Sunday defeated Brighton 3-1.

However despite the European Super League furore that shook the football world this week owner Sheikh Mansour will most likely not stop his expensive project at the club.

The events of the last few days would only serve as an inspiration to the players as they seek to placate their fans - majority of whom do not approve of their involvement in the competition.

Ahead of their crunch upcoming games manager Pep Guardiola would be keen to have his players snap out of the European Super League drama and ensure that the hopes for a treble is not defeated after losing 1-0 to Chelsea in the  semifinals of the FA Cup.

City have five Premier League games left to play this season, two guaranteed semifinals clashes in the Champions League and Sunday's Carabao Cup final.

Guardiola is encouraged by the form of one of his players to steer the Citizens to the predicted league finish - Phil Foden.

"This guy (Foden) is growing. His influence in our game is massive. He's becoming a serious player," Guardiola said.

"His influence in the final third is so important. He can play wide, he can play inside, he's so aggressive with the ball," Guardiola, who once described Foden as  'the most talented' player that he has worked with, further stressed.

With the league title firmly City's to lose following the 2-1 win over Aston Villa on Wednesday night, attention is drawn to the Champions League chasing pack.

Manchester United's impressive form have ensured that the fans of the game  will not experience any dull moments as the season gradually winds down.

United are second in the Premier League table and are the most in form team on the log with three wins in their last three matches.

They have 66 points, 11 points adrift of City while Leicester City are 10 points behind them in third place with 56 points.

Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho is in the form of his life and will be hoping that his goals steer Leicester to a top four spot and avoid the heartbreak of last season when they dropped out of the Champions League places.

Iheanacho and compatriot Wilfred Ndidi are expected to be in action tonight as they face relegation threatened West Bromwich Albion that parade fellow Nigeria international Semi Ajayi.

The 'senior man' has scored eight league goals in 18 games this season  for the Foxes and it was his goal against Southampton that ensured that they will face Chelsea in the final of the FA Cup in May.

Chelsea themselves are also in the running for the top four. The Blues are in 4th place in the table with 55 points, ahead of West Ham only on goal difference.

Even the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool, Everton, Arsenal and Leeds United who make up the top 10 spots have outside chances for the European places.

It promises to be an exciting finale to the  2020 /2021 season.
