Arsenal schedule date to announce new contract signed by Nigeria-eligible striker
Published: April 21, 2021Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Arsenal have scheduled a date to announce the new contract signed by American-born Nigerian striker Folarin Balogun.
The England U20 international inked a new four-year deal with the Gunners on Friday, April 9, and only the official confirmation is missing.
The latest update from the Emirates Stadium is that Arsenal have tentatively fixed Thursday, April 22nd as the date for the confirmation of the new deal, as from 1000 hours.
The north London club had been waiting for the right time to make the announcement after their attempt to join the proposed European Super League fueled the anger of the fans.
Now the coast is clear following their withdrawal from the controversial competition.
Meanwhile, Balogun stands a good chance of being involved in some capacity in Arsenal's next Premier League match against Everton on Friday having moved up the pecking order of attackers as a result of the unavailability of
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (illness) and Alex Lacazette (hamstring).

The 19-year-old was embedded with the first team before the visit of Fulham last weekend but missed out on the matchday 20.
