Super Eagles star to undergo late fitness test before Slavia Prague's clash against Arsenal
Published: April 14, 2021Super Eagles star Peter Olayinka will undergo a late fitness test before Slavia Prague's UEFA Europa League quarterfinal clash against Premier League side Arsenal on Thursday evening, manager Jindrich Trpisovsky revealed at the pre-match press conference today.
Olayinka did not feature in Slavia's biggest domestic game of the season against city rivals Sparta Prague last weekend because he wasn't in a good physical condition.
Another point to raise is that the former Gent player has been involved in only one of Slavia's last four league matches due to fitness issues.
The Czech champions have been handed a boost with their Nigerian winger training with the rest of the squad in their final training session on Wednesday.
"Sima and Olayinka both joined the training. We suppose one of them will be available for the starting line-up and one for about twenty minutes," Trpisovsky said, according to Slavia Prague's official Twitter account.
"We will decide tomorrow morning after warming up."
Olayinka has been one of the standout players for Slavia Prague in the Europa League with a goal involvement of five (3 goals and 2 assists) in ten appearances in the competition.
