Mourinho runs the rule over Nigerian prospect ahead of Tottenham's clash vs Manchester United
Published: April 09, 2021Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Tottenham Hotspur's manager Jose Mourinho promoted Nigerian goalkeeper Joshua Oluwayemi to first team training before his side's blockbuster English Premier League meeting with Manchester United.
The respected Portuguese football tactician ran the rule over the 20-year-old glovesman at Tottenham Hotspur Training Centre on Thursday, April 08.
The likes of Harry Kane, Heung-Min Son, Gareth Bale, Toby Alderweireld, Carlos Vinicius, Lucas Moura, Sergio Reguilon and Steven Bergwijn were all spotted during the workout in Enfield.
Nuno Santos, goalkeeping coach of Tottenham Hotspur, put the three goalkeepers in attendance, namely Oluwayemi, Hugo Lloris and Joe Hart, through their paces.
Oluwayemi is believed to be third choice in the pecking order of goalkeepers at Spurs following the injury suffered by Alfie Whiteman that could see him remain on the sidelines until at least May 2021.
Born in London, Oluwayemi has played non-binding games for England's Young Lions but is open to representing Nigeria.
He kept an impressive ten clean sheets in 21 appearances in the U18 Premier League before making the step up to Spurs U23 side.
