Snapped : Aribo cleared to resume training with Rangers after omission from matchday squad vs Lesotho
Published: April 03, 2021Joe Aribo has been cleared to resume training with Scottish Premiership champions Glasgow Rangers.
The former Charlton Athletic man was omitted from Nigeria's matchday squad in their final 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Lesotho at the Teslim Balogun Stadium four days ago.
Aribo failed a fitness test in the morning of the game after failing to recover from a stomach issue.
However, he is in contention to play for the Light Blues in Sunday's Scottish Cup clash against Cove Rangers as he was spotted training with the Rangers first team on Friday (see photo).
If selected by manager Steven Gerrard against the third-tier side, it will be Aribo's 37th appearance in all competitions this term.
Fellow Nigeria international Leon Balogun also took part in Friday's workout as well as left-back Calvin Bassey.
Aribo announced himself to the Nigerian public in some style, scoring in his first two international games against Ukraine and Brazil but has fired blanks in his last five games for the Super Eagles.
