CIES : Liverpool loanee Awoniyi is Union Berlin's most valuable transfer asset; Eze top ranked Palace player
Published: March 22, 2021In its latest weekly post, CIES Football Observatory has revealed the top valued footballer for each of the 98 teams from the five major European leagues, as well as the percentage that the value of the most expensive player represents out of the total estimated transfer value of his owner club.
Two attack-minded players eligible to represent the Nigeria national team - namely Taiwo Awoniyi and Eberechi Eze - have made the cut.
With an estimated transfer value of more than ten million euros, Liverpool loanee Awoniyi is Union Berlin's most valuable transfer asset.
The 2013 U17 World Cup winner is spending the whole of this season on loan at the Bundesliga club and put together a string of fine performances in the first half of the season before suffering a muscle injury that saw him miss the last five league matches.
Awoniyi has directly participated in eight goals (5 goals, 3 assists) from nineteen matches in the German top division.
The 23-year-old represents 14.3 percent of the total estimated Union Berlin's squad value.
Signed from Queens Park Rangers for a fee that could rise to £19.5m, Eberechi Eze is Crystal Palace's most valuable asset with the attacking midfielder valued at €30-40m.
The England U21 international represents 28.4 percent of the entire Palace's transfer value.
In 27 outings for the Eagles in the Premier League, Eze has scored three goals and has the same number of assists to his name.
