'You need to put the ball in the net' - Fulham boss reacts to crucial Lookman miss vs Leeds
Published: March 20, 2021Fulham boss Scott Parker has rued Ademola Lookman's missed chance during the second half of their 2-1 loss to Leeds United at Craven Cottage on Friday night.
The Super Eagles target would have put the Cottagers 2-1 up but somehow fluffed the chance and it was the turning point in the game as Leeds United scored from the counter, Raphinha slotting home from close range in the 58th minute.
Fulham found themselves behind two minutes after Josh Maja thought he had opened the scoring only for a combination of Illan Meslier and Luke Ayling to clear the ball off the line.
The Bordeaux loanee was taken off at half-time, Serbian striker Aleksandar Mitrović his replacement.
On Lookman's miss and his half-time change, Parker said at the post-match press conference : "Brought Mitrovic on to try and give us a platform.
"You need to put the ball in the net and it was a big moment but I don't think it was the sole factor."

Lookman provided the assist for Andersen's first Premier League goal, the Dane volleying home from close range after a delightful ball from the winger.
