Bayern's ex-Chelsea midfielder Musiala set to sign first professional contract in the coming days
Published: March 02, 2021According to Sky Deutschland via Fussballtransfers, Anglo-German-Nigerian attacking midfielder Jamal Musiala is set to pen his first professional contract with Bayern Munich in the coming days.
The Chelsea academy product was expected to sign the deal last week, on his 18th birthday, but final details of the deal needed to be ironed out.
And if all goes well, Musiala will put pen to paper on a long-term deal, keeping him at Bayern Munich until 2025.
Portuguese setup Benfica and an unnamed English Premier League club made a last-ditch attempt to try and convince the 18-year-old not to sign a contract extension with Bayern Munich but were unsuccessful.
Last week, Musiala ended speculation about his international future by declaring his intention to represent his country of birth, Germany at senior international level.
He arrived at Bayern in the summer of 2019 after spending eight years in the Chelsea academy and has gone on to make 27 appearances for the first team of the Bavarians, scoring four goals.
