Chelsea loanee Moses names Conte among top six coaches he has worked with, snubs Mourinho
Published: March 01, 2021Former Nigeria international Victor Moses overlooked Jose Mourinho as he namechecked the top six coaches he has worked with in his career.
In his second spell as Chelsea manager, Mourinho sanctioned the loan of Moses to Liverpool, the first of three loan spells while the Portuguese super coach was in charge at the Blues.
The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner declared that Antonio Conte is the best coach that he has worked with.
The Italian football tactician revived Moses's career at Stamford Bridge, converting him to a right wing-back as Chelsea won the Premier League title in 2017.
Asked the top coaches on his list, Moses told Spartak Moscow's official website : "Conte is exactly on this list. He helped me to believe in myself.
"And the point is precisely in the human attitude, and not in the fact that he found me a new position on the right flank of the defense.
"Next Roberto Martinez, Rafael Benitez. Neil Warnock, with whom I debuted at Crystal Palace. Tedesco. And also Mark Hughes."
Moses went on to explain why Mourinho was not in his top five coaches, saying : "Without a doubt, Jose is a cool pro, I respect his merits. But it so happens that the necessary contact does not arise between the player and the coach.
"In the end, I tried in training, I wanted to play, but Mourinho had a different opinion."
Moses has been on the books of Chelsea since August 2012 and has taken in loan spells at Stoke City, West Ham, Fenerbahce and Inter Milan apart from the aforementioned clubs.
