Former Tottenham Hotspur coach pinpoints the role Iheanacho will play against Arsenal
Published: February 28, 2021Leicester City are looking to go second in the English Premier League table with a win against Arsenal at the King Power Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The one change in the Foxes starting lineup enforced upon manager Brendan Rodgers sees Kelechi Iheanacho replacing the injured James Maddison.
The official starting lineup suggests that Rodgers has deployed a 4-4-2 formation but in reality it's most likely a 4-2-3-1 system, with Iheanacho tasked with playmaking duties in the absence of Maddison.
The Taye Academy product has played as a number 10 for the Super Eagles and Golden Eaglets in the past.
Speaking on Premier League Productions less than an hour before kickoff, former Tottenham Hotspur coach Tim Sherwood revealed the role Iheanacho will play against Arsenal.
"Obviously Maddison plays as a 10, he's going to play up there . Iheanacho will drop deep, Vardy will always threaten the two center backs. Luiz and Mari know they are in for a game today when you play against Jamie Vardy.
"Iheanacho will play up against them, Brendan has got numerous ways of playing, he's going for a 4-4-2 this afternoon.
"The weakness of Arsenal is here (Mari and Luiz)".

Iheanacho is back in the Leicester City squad after missing their defeat to Slavia Prague in the Europa League on Thursday due to suspension for accumulated bookings.
