Shoretire Named In Manchester United's Matchday Squad Against Real Sociedad
Published: February 17, 2021Shola Shoretire is in contention to make his professional debut for Manchester United in Thursday's UEFA Europa League round-of-32 first leg against Real Sociedad.
The Newcastle United-born striker of Nigerian descent has been included in Manchester United's 22-man traveling party to Turin, informs the Red Devils via their official website.
For this season's knockout rounds, UEFA has permitted clubs to name up to twenty-three players in a matchday squad with five substitutions allowed, meaning Shoretire is certain to be involved in some capacity against the La Liga side barring an injury in the pre-match warm up.
The Manchester United players, including Shoretire, are due to fly from Manchester Airport on Wednesday afternoon.
The 17-year-old Anglo-Nigerian trained with the first teamers this morning before their trip to Italy.
Shoretire, who has played non-stop at United since the age of nine, signed his first professional contract earlier this month.
