Akinwale's Fifth Goal Of The Season Helps Crystal Palace Beat Fulham U18
Published: February 06, 2021Exciting young striker of Nigerian descent Victor Akinwale got on the scoresheet as Crystal Palace moved four points clear at the top of the U18 Premier League standings courtesy of their 2-0 win over Fulham in a London derby staged at London School of Economics on Saturday afternoon.
Akinwale and fullback Tayo Adaramola started for the Eagles, while Michael Olakigbe and Idris Odutayo were named in the Cottagers' starting XI.
The 16-year-old Akinwale opened the scoring from close range in the sixth minute after he was set up by Kevin Gonzalez.
And it became 2-0 when Rak-Sakyi dinked over the goalkeeper and slotted home in the 34th minute.
In his thirteen appearances in the U18 Premier League this season, Akinwale has posted his name on the scoresheet five times following his strike against Fulham.
The first year scholar also rippled the net against Chelsea, Norwich City (2) and in the reverse fixture against Fulham.
Akinwale made his Premier League 2 debut against Norwich City on February 1, 2021.
