Leicester City Coach, Players Happy To See Iheanacho End A Run Of 461 Minutes Without A Premier League Goal
Published: February 04, 2021Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has said that he and the players were happy to see Kelechi Iheanacho end his Premier League goal drought in a 2-0 win against Fulham on Wednesday evening.
Since scoring in the 49th minute against Crystal Palace on July 4, 2020, the Nigeria international hadn't put the ball in the back of the net, failing to score in fourteen consecutive matches.
Iheanacho nodded home from ten yards out after a pinpoint delivery from James Maddison to open the scoring against the Cottagers, ending a run of 461 minutes without a goal in the Premier League.
"We scored two goals of great quality. The first one we won the ball back and it’s a brilliant cross. We’re delighted for Kels," Rodgers told reporters at the post-match press conference.
"The second was a different type, with good possession, played quickly, and then there’s the left-back getting up there to support with good energy."

Iheanacho netted three goals in six Europa League matches before ending his barren run in the top-flight.
