Tottenham Hotspur-Owned Center Back Jubril Okedina Makes His Professional Debut
Published: January 30, 2021Tottenham Hotspur-owned central defender Jubril Okedina has made his professional debut aged 20 years and 96 days.
Okedina has been loaned out to high-flying EFL League Two club Cambridge United for the remainder of the season as Tottenham Hotspur want him to get a glimpse of first-team football.
He was a non-playing substitute in four consecutive matches against Harrogate Town, Colchester United, Southend United and Bradford before making the starting lineup for today's fixture vs Crawley Town in which he lasted the distance.
The versatile defender put up a good performance on his senior debut, looked assured and technically good on the ball.
On 75 minutes, he was alert, heading behind a dangerous ball from the right and prevented Sam Matthews wreaking havoc with the score at 2-1.
Crawley Town's Hessenthaler cancelled out Joe Ironside's early goal, Kyle Knoyle put the U's back in front on the stroke of half-time, before Wes Hoolahan netted an insurance goal five minutes from time.
Okedina captained Tottenham's U23 side in the Premier League 2 before heading to Cambridge United on loan.
