Ndidi's Injury Vs Everton : Leicester City Boss Provides Update On Key Super Eagles Player
Published: January 28, 2021Everton and Leicester City shared the spoils with a 1-1 draw in a Premier League meeting at the King Power Stadium on Wednesday night.
James Rodriguez curled a delightful right-footed finish into the net from 20 yards to open the scoring for the Toffees on the hour mark; Youri Tielemans leveled things up with a shot from outside the box midway through the second half
Super Eagles star Wilfred Ndidi started for the Foxes but had to make way for Nampalys Mendy three minutes to the end of the first half due to injury.
The holding midfielder had been limping for a while prior to his substitution.
Speaking at the post-match press conference, Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers revealed that Ndidi will be assessed in the coming days after picking up a suspected hamstring injury.
"It’s just tightened up. He doesn’t think he’s overstretched or tore it. We’ll just have to assess that. We couldn’t risk it," the Northern Irishman told reporters.
Ndidi's teammate Kelechi Iheanacho was a non-playing substitute against Everton and Alex Iwobi played the last ten minutes after coming off the bench.
Leicester City's next Premier League match comes up against Leeds United on Sunday, January 31.
