Southampton, Norwich, Bournemouth Interested In Promising Striker Of Nigerian Descent
Published: January 08, 2021Promising Northampton Town striker of Nigerian descent Caleb Chukwuemeka is drawing interest from clubs higher up the football pyramid in England, according to reports.
At just 18 years, Caleb, the older brother of Aston Villa super kid Carney Chukwuemeka, has broken into Northampton's first team in the current season, making 17 appearances in all competitions with two goals to his name.
He was rewarded with a promotion to the first team of the Cobblers after directly participating in 30 goals (16 goals, 14 assists) for the U18s over the course of the 2019-2020 campaign.
The Daily Mail says Southampton are interested in signing the older Chukwuemeka but face competition from Championship promotion hopefuls Norwich City and Bournemouth.
He is also being sought after by Belgian First Division A champions Club Brugge.
Chukwuemeka should be available for a small fee because he has not yet signed a professional contract with Northampton.
