'We Couldn’t Afford Him' - Blackburn Rovers Boss Foresees Adarabioyo Returning To Man City
Published: July 10, 2020Blackburn Rovers boss Tony Mowbray does not think that Nigerian center back Tosin Adarabioyo will be a player of the club next season because he is too expensive to be signed on a permanent basis from Manchester City.
Adarabioyo has recorded eight senior appearances for the deposed Premier League champions and is spending his second season on loan in the Championship due to a lack of first team opportunities at his parent club.
And with his contract with City set to run out in June 2021, the former England youth international would be considering his future and playing in the Premier League would be his dream, having made an impression in the second tier.
"Ultimately, we couldn’t afford him, that’s the first part of the question," Mowbray was quoted as saying by Lancashire Telegraph.
"This is why this loan system is really good because not in a million years could we afford Tosin Adarabioyo.
"We’ll wait and see, but I’m not thinking sat here that Tosin will be starting next season with us, unless Man City do us a huge favour of course, I’m not sure that will be the case."

The 22-year-old Adarabioyo is set to make his 34th appearance in a Blackburn Rovers shirt when West Brom visit Ewood Park on Saturday, July 11.
