Ex-West Ham Star Explains His Thinking Behind Rodgers Decision To Start Vardy, Iheanacho In Attack Vs Brighton
Published: June 23, 2020Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has opted for two strikers in the ongoing Premier League game between his team and Brighton & Hove at the King Power Stadium.
Former England star Jamie Vardy is partnered in attack by Kelechi Iheanacho, something that has not happened much this season, but has worked quite well in the past.
Vardy and Iheanacho have started a game together only three times in the English top-flight this term - against Norwich City, Aston Villa and Manchester City.
Former West Ham defender James Collins, who is on punditry duties with Premier League Productions, has explained his thinking behind manager Brendan Rodgers' decision to start the two strikers.
"You don't see that often but again it goes down to his pace," Collins said just before the start of the game.
"Jamie Vardy will be stretching them, Iheanacho can come in and receive the ball a bit deeper which is beautiful.
"Again it is down to great management from Brendan Rodgers."

Vardy and Iheanacho have tallied 27 goals between them in all competitions this term, with the Super Eagle accounting for eight.
