Southampton Icon Golac Insists Partizan's Sadiq Can't Join Manchester United Right Now
Published: June 17, 2020Southampton legend Ivan Golac does not think Partizan Belgrade striker Umar Sadiq will be joining Manchester United in the near future.
The former Nigeria U23 international was observed at close quarters during the Eternal derby between Partizan and Red Star Belgrade a week ago, raising speculation that the Red Devils were interested in his services.
When asked on the possibility of Sadiq moving to Manchester United, Golac insisted that there is no truth to the reports, adding that one of the most promising Serbian players Lazar Marković struggled when he joined Liverpool six years ago.
Speaking to Sport Klub, Golac explained : "When I read something like that, in 99 percent of cases I throw away the newspaper. Well, no one can come to United after one dribble.
"It is England, demanding not only in terms of toys but also physically. Lazar Markovic, who was among the five best players in the world in terms of talent, did not do well in England. Where is Andrija Zivkovic? "
Sadiq is having a great season with Partizan Belgrade, with 17 goals to his name from 38 matches in all competitions.
