Solskjaer Confirms Man Utd Are In Talks With Shanghai Shenhua Over Extending Ighalo's Loan
Published: May 26, 2020Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Manchester United are in talks with Shanghai Shenhua over extending Odion Ighalo's loan deal which expires at the start of next week.
With the Chinese Super League set to start within six weeks, Shanghai Shenhua are hoping to have the player back in their ranks but United also want the former Nigeria international to complete the Premier League season which has been halted since March due to the coronavirus pandemic.
As exclusively reported by allnigeriasoccer.com, Shanghai Shenhua have demanded a loan fee for Ighalo, having allowed him depart for free in the January transfer window.
"The loan deal went until the end of May now, so obviously he’s supposed to be going back," Solskjaer told Manchester United's official website.
"We’re in dialogue. They’ve been great towards us, his club, and allowed him to play for his dream club.
"It’s been a dream for him and hopefully he can finish off what he started, hopefully with a trophy for us.

"At the moment, nothing has been agreed. Their league is going to get started soon so we’re just waiting to see."
Ighalo was spotted training with his Manchester United teammates at the Aon Training Complex on Tuesday.
