Chelsea's Tomori Admits He Has A Special Relationship With Abraham Due To His Nigerian Heritage

Chelsea's England international defender Fikayo Tomori has revealed that he has a special relationship with Tammy Abraham because of his Nigerian heritage.

The two Chelsea Academy products had eligibility to play for the Super Eagles until 2019 when they featured for the Three Lions in European Championship qualifiers.

It will be recalled that Abraham was the first Chelsea player to join Tomori in celebrating his first Premier League goal against Wolverhampton Wanderers on September 14, 2019.

Two weeks before the center back opened his Chelsea account, Nigeria Football Federation president Amaju Pinnick was at Stamford Bridge to run the rule over the two Anglo-Nigerians, but his trip to London did not yield any positive result eventually.

"Our parents are both Nigerian, we both grew up in south-east London and we used to come in on the same days," Tomori told Chelsea's official webpage.

"We would take the train into training together, talking about what’s going to happen when we go full-time.

"I think it definitely made our bond stronger and took our relationship to something different."

Faustino Anjorin, Ike Ugbo, Prince Adegoke, Tariq Uwakwe and Jordan Aina are amongst the Nigeria-eligible youngsters currently on the books of Chelsea.
