Bosnich Urges Man Utd To Sign Top Striker To Provide Cover For Rashford Despite Ighalo's Form
Published: April 27, 2020Former Manchester United glovesman Mark Bosnich has urged the Red Devils to sign a top quality striker to provide cover for Marcus Rashford despite the form of Odion Ighalo.
Rashford was a huge miss for United after he picked up an injury and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had to bring in the former Nigeria international in the January transfer window to ease the goalscoring burden on Anthony Martial, Daniel James and Mason Greenwood.
The Old Trafford outfit did not sign a replacement for Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez after both players joined Inter Milan last summer.
Ighalo has caught the eye since his dream move to Manchester United, scoring 4 goals in his first three starts, and is open to joining the club he supports on a permanent basis.
"We saw Marcus Rashford's injury, and they had to go and basically get another striker in Ighalo so quickly...," Bosnich said to Sky Sports UK.
"I think they need to strengthen in that area to make sure that they have got top quality back-up.
"That's not being disrespectful to Ighalo because he's been absolutely fantastic since he's come in. If I had to pick one, it would be there."

Ighalo could be returning to Shanghai Shenhua on June 1 if his loan deal with Manchester United is not extended.
