Torino Reveal The Exact Amount Paid To Chelsea To Sign Ola Aina Permanently
Published: April 26, 2020Italian Serie A club Torino have published their financial statement for the year ended December 31, 2019, according to Toro News.
Among the items entered in the Balance Sheet in the paragraph 'The multi-year rights to the players', Torino revealed that they paid 9.8 million euros to Chelsea to sign Ola Aina permanently last summer.
A transfer fee of ten million euros was earlier mooted as the sum paid by The Maroons when they activated the defender's purchase clause that had been inserted into his loan deal when he initially joined the club in August 2018.
Since the beginning of the new millennium, no Nigerian defender has cost more than Ola Aina who is the second most expensive Nigerian defender in history behind one-time most expensive defender in the world Taribo West.
The Chelsea Academy product is now valued at eight million euros by Transfermarkt due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Aina has played 57 matches for Torino since he joined the club, including three in the qualifying rounds of the Europa League.
