Newcastle United Future Owners Set The Wheels In Motion To Sign Super Eagles Star
Published: April 16, 2020English Premier League side Newcastle United have set the wheels in motion to sign Nigeria national-teamer Emmanuel Dennis, according to reports.
The Magpies, owned by Mike Ashley since 2007, are close to being acquired by Saudi investors, and the potential new owners have already started planning for next season in terms of reinforcements.
According to Eurosport journalist, Manu Lonjon via Twitter, the future owners of Newcastle United have sent emissaries to inquire about the situations of Emmanuel Dennis (Club Brugge) and Dries Mertens (Napoli).
However, Newcastle United might face competition for the services of Dennis, with at least eight other Premier League clubs credited with an interest in the Super Eagles star.
The 22-year-old is also on the radar of French Ligue 1, German Bundesliga and La Liga clubs.
It has been claimed that any club interested in signing the Nigerian would have to meet Club Brugge's asking price, set at 25 million euros.
Dennis joined Club Brugge from Ukrainian outfit Zorya Lugansk in July 2017 and has tallied 28 goals in 103 matches while producing ten assists.
