'When He's Out Of The Side, He's Sorely Missed — Ndidi Hailed By Former Leicester City Striker
Published: April 12, 2020Former Leicester City star Iwan Roberts has hailed the impact of manager Brendan Rodgers on his players, picking out Nigerian international Wilfred Ndidi for special praise, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The coach-turned-commentator has pointed out the midfielder as one of the most indispensable players of the team, insinuating that the team is a tad below their usual standards when he is not playing.
Speaking to Leicester City's official webpage about the impact Rodgers has had on the Foxes since he joined in February 2019, the Welshman picked the Nigerian as one of the most impressive players under his stewardship.
"You don't realise what a good player Wilfred Ndidi is until he's not there", Roberts said about the Super Eagle.
"When he's out of the side, he's sorely missed."
His words are further solidified by the fact that Leicester managed to win only once (vs Sheffield United) of the six games Ndidi missed out on during his spell on the sidelines as a result of injury in the suspended season.
Ndidi who was recently named City's MVP of the 2019-2020 season has appeared in 23 games in the English top-flight, scoring twice.
