Premier League Expert Urges Arsenal To Make A Move For Teenage Nigerian Midfielder
Published: April 10, 2020Arsenal have been urged to make a move for teenage Nigerian midfielder Owen Otasowie.
Football London's Graham Ruthven has identified five defensive midfielders Gunners manager Mikel Arteta should target when the transfer window opens for business, with Wolverhampton Wanderers starlet Otasowie one of the two teenagers on the list.
Born in New York City, the highly-rated Otasowie is also eligible to wear the colours of England and Nigeria internationally without applying for a change of association because he has played non-binding games for the Americans.
He has been included in Wolves' matchday squad for Premier League games three times this season, made the bench for the FA Cup tie against Manchester United and made his professional debut against Sporting Braga in the Europa League back in December.
Writing on Otasowie, Ruthven said : "Arsenal are believed to be fans of the 19-year-old who can also play at centre back.
"This versatility would surely appeal to Arteta given the Gunners’ need to strengthen in defensive areas too. However, Liverpool, PSG and Schalke are also thought to be potential suitors for the Wolves youngster."
Eduardo Camavinga (Rennes), Thomas Partey (Atletico Madrid), Declan Rice (West Ham) and Denis Zakaria (Borussia Monchengladbach ) are the other midfielders Arteta has been advised to make a move for.
