Red-Hot Arsenal Frontman Folarin Balogun Scores Fourth Goal Of The Season
Published: August 30, 2019In-form Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun earned Arsenal a point when he netted his fourth goal in the Premier League 2 this season as the Young Gunners and Derby County played out a 2-2 draw at Pride Park Stadium on Friday night.
With the exception of Harrison Clarke, Arsenal's four-man defence contained Nigerian players, with Tobi Omole lining up as a center back, Joseph Olowu at right back and Mazeed Ogungbo starting at left back.
England youth international striker Eddie Nketiah has joined Leeds United on loan, so extra responsibilities have been placed on Balogun's shoulders and he has not disappointed, so much so that he was rewarded with a maiden call-up to England U19 squad on Friday.
The Rams had established a two-goal lead by the hour mark and it was Balogun's introduction in the 64th minute that salvaged a draw.
The Nigeria-eligible youngster was involved in the build-up to Arsenal's first goal in the 70th minute and restored parity eleven minutes from time when he capitalized on a mistake and placed the ball into an empty net.
Balogun scored his first career hat-trick in the Premier League 2 on the opening day of the season against Blackburn Rovers.
