'It Was A Great Goal' - Arsenal Coach Hails Olayinka After Strike Against League Two Opponents
Published: August 29, 2019Arsenal U21 coach Steve Bould has praised James Olayinka goalscoring ability after he opened his account for the season in a Leasing.com Trophy fixture against League Two side Northampton Town on Tuesday night.
On 78 minutes, Olayinka opened the scoring when he side-footed the ball home from close range after brilliant work from Folarin Balogun.
The Arsenal team which also contained Tolaji Bola, Joseph Olowu, Tobi Omole and Mazeed Ogungbo left the PTS Academy Stadium with a point after losing on penalties to the Cobblers.
On Olayinnka's goal, Bould told arsenal.com : ''We were forced backwards a little bit and we were finding it difficult to get out, even though we had a lot of the ball at the back, so it was a great goal.
''We had a couple of moments like that and perhaps didn’t test their keeper quite enough, but I think it’s been a really, really good experience for everybody''.
The 18-year-old Olayinka has been tipped to make his senior debut for the Gunners this season having trained and played three matches for the first team in pre-season.
