Nigerian-Born Winger Transfer : Lazio Win First Battle Against Liverpool
Published: August 23, 2019Nigerian-born winger Bobby Adekanye is in contention to make his professional debut for Lazio in Sunday's Serie A opener against Sampdoria.
Adekanye's former club Liverpool have insisted that the Biancocelesti allegedly tapped up the player before his move to the club and asked FIFA to investigate their claims.
The European champions claim that the Netherlands youth-teamer was illegally approached before he ran out of contract in the summer.
Through a press release published on their official website on Thursday, Lazio have informed that FIFA has granted the authorization for the temporary membership of the player Habeeb Omobolaji Adekanye, who will therefore be available to Mr. Simone Inzaghi from Sunday's match against Sampdoria.
The 20-year-old opted not to pen a fresh
three-year deal with Liverpool after he was left out of Jurgen Klopp’s
first team pre-season tour of the United States in the summer of 2018.
With Italian Serie A clubs permitted to name 23 players in their match day squads, it is looking likely that Adekanye will be called up for the game vs Sampdoria as he featured for the first team in pre-season.
