Most Expensive Nigerian Player Wears Everton Jersey For The First Time
Published: August 13, 2019Premier League club Everton have published pictures on the official website of Alex Iwobi wearing the Everton kit for the very first time following his deadline day move from Arsenal.
The Toffees coughed up a fee in the region of 35 million pounds to bring the Hale End Academy product to Goodison Park, making him the most expensive player of Nigerian descent in history.
Iwobi is also the costliest player signed by Everton in the summer transfer window ahead of Moise Kean, Andre Gomes and Jean-Philippe Gbamin who joined the club from Juventus, Barcelona and Mainz respectively.
If the six pictures published by Everton are anything to go by, Iwobi seems excited about the new challenge as he smiled for the cameras.
The 23-year-old has inked a five-year contract, tying him to Everton until at least the end of the 2023-2024 season.
Ahead of a potential debut against Watford this weekend, the Nigeria international started training with his new teammates on Monday.
