The Super Falcons lost 3-0 to their Norwegian counterparts in their first game of 2019's Women World Cup on Saturday evening.
A deflected strike from Guro Ruiten gave the Scandinavians the lead in the 17th minute, Lisa-Marie Utland got on the scoresheet on 34 minutes before an own goal from Ohale Osinachi settled the game before half-time.
Allnigeriasoccer.com reports the performances of the players on show :
Goalkeeper
Tochukwu Oluehi: Could have done better to keep out Karlseng Utland's goal though the out of sorts defending on show left her at the mercy of the Norwegian attackers. (4/10)
Defenders
Faith Michael: Formed part of the unimpressive rear and did little in limiting the attacking advances. Subbed after a bad looking injury. (5/10)
Osinachi Ohale: Horribly redirected into her own goal to gift the opposition a 3-0 lead and sum up her disastrous evening. (4/10)
Onome Ebi: One of the team's most experienced players failed to show up in a vital game. Gave away possession a tad more easily and had no answer to the opposite menace. (4/10)
Ngozi Ebere: Nothing really of note from Ebere as the team gave up three points without a whimper. (4/10)
Midfielders
Halimatu Ayinde: One of the worst games she will have in the green as she failed to get to grips with the game proceedings before she was hooked in the 51st minute. (4.5/10)
Ngozi Okobi: Ran ragged by the quick Norwegians and touched very little of the ball in general. (4/10)
Rita Chikwelu: Had a nightmare first half showing and only really showed influence deep into the second. Put in some crunching tackles but nothing otherwise. (6/10)
Attackers
Asisat Oshoala: A few bright touches and twists and was always swarmed out by the opposition defenders. Yet one of the team's best in a bad night. (6/10)
Desire Oparanozie: Had little impact on the game and was unsurprisingly subbed for Kanu. Won some fouls with her built but picked up an early yellow for an arm fling on Wold. (5/10)
Francisca Ordega: Saw space to work on but could not conjure up anything meaningful and even got booked. (6.5/10)
Substitutes
Chidimma Okeke: Introduced in place of the injured Faith and showed glimpses of her quality. Went on a few attacking forays.(5/10)
Chinaza Uchendu: Replaced the faltering Ayinde and looked sharp in attack. Tried a few shots which were not successful. (6/10)
Uchenna Kanu: On for Oparanozie but couldn't bring the needed spark to stage the elusive come back. (5/10)
