Flying Eagles Official On Bogus West Ham Academy Player Training With National Team
Published: May 05, 2019A top Flying Eagles official has insisted that Daniel Toma deserves to train with the national team at their get-together in Ingolstadt due to the fact he is a Nigerian.
There has been so much fuss about the winger because he claims to be on the books of Premier League side West Ham and was involved in 29 goals (21 goals, 8 assists) in 19 games before he reported for international duty.
Allnigeriasoccer.com has been doing some digging and can confirm with certainty that Toma does not play for West Ham U18s and U23s teams and he would be ineligible for the FIFA U20 World Cup if he played for the Hammers U16s.
''Toma is a Nigerian so he has the right to be in camp, whether he has a club or not, the criteria for invitation is to have a Nigerian passport, '' the Flying Eagles official said.
''We have seen players that are representing Premier League clubs dropped, it is the performance we are looking for and the ones who can strengthen the team.''
Former West Ham United striker Daniel Uchechi became the first player on the books of a Premier League club to make Nigeria's roster for the FIFA U20 World Cup in 2009.
