Arsenal Super Kid Of Nigerian Descent Named In England Squad For U17 EURO
Published: April 30, 2019Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Arsenal teenage sensation of Nigerian descent Miguel Azeez is set to add to his international caps at youth level for England as he has been named in the Young Lions squad for the upcoming European U17 Championship taking place in the Republic of Ireland.
The 16-year-old became provisionally cap-tied to England after representing the country during the U17 EURO qualifiers in March.
Prior to Azeez's promotion to England U17s at the start of the 2018-2019 season, he was part of the U16 set up.
The world champions have been placed in a tough looking Group B alongside Netherlands, France and Sweden.
Former Tottenham Hotspur U16 captain Noni Madueke impressed with his performances during the U17 EURO qualifiers and ensured England qualified for the tournament by scoring an injury time equaliser in a 3-2 win vs Denmark.
The PSV midfielder of Nigerian parentage is in contention to be included in the squad for the tournament which begins on Friday, May 3.
Manchester City duo Gavin Bazunu and Timi Sobowale, and Derby County's Festy Ebsoele made Ireland's 20-man squad.
