Nigerian Striker Scores First Hat-trick For Liverpool On Her Dad's Birthday
Published: April 22, 2019England youth international of Nigerian descent, Rinsola Babajide netted her first career hat-trick for Liverpool Women in their entertaining 5-2 win against Bristol City in a Women's Super League clash on Sunday afternoon.
It was a special occasion for Babajide as her father celebrated his birthday on April 21, and she had arrived Prenton Park in Merseyside without a goal to her name since she found the net against Brighton in September.
The 20-year-old found the net twice in the first half, opening the scoring in the 11th minute before grabbing her second of the game four minutes before half-time.
For her first goal of the game, she picked up a loose ball and coolly slotted it into the net, and fired into the roof of the net for her second after controlling a cross from the right.
Nineteen minutes into the second half, Babajide completed her hat-trick with a perfectly placed shot in the corner.
Liverpool Women had lost four consecutive games across all competitions before they returned to winning ways thanks to their number 20.
