Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Premier League club Watford are in talks with skillful Nigerian midfielder Jayden Bennetts over a new contract ahead of next season.
The 17-year-old has earned rave reviews this season and was one of the key players for the Hornets side that progressed to the semifinals of the prestigious FA Youth Cup.
Watford have offered Bennetts a one-year contract extension and the negotiations are going on smoothly.
The Barnet-born youngster has not been given a professional contract because the Vicarage Road Stadium outfit don't want to rush decisions as they have a new Head of Academy.
Jayden, whose sibling Keanan Bennetts was one of the top stars at the Tottenham Academy before switching to Borussia Mönchengladbach in the summer of 2018, was rewarded with a maiden call-up to the Flying Eagles ahead of the U20 AFCON and remains in contention to be on the plane to Poland next month.
The second-year scholar has been on the books of Watford since he was an U8, rising through the ranks before making his debut for the U23s.
