Can Layton Ndukwu Become The Next Leicester City Striker After Iheanacho's Struggles
Leicester City completed a big-money move for Kelechi Iheanacho when they paid £25m  to Manchester City in 2017.

The price was a bit high for a player of his age, but you wouldn't want to blame the Foxes because the former U17 World Cup winner was in the best form of his life as at that time.

In fact, the Citizens were unsure if Guardiola's decision to let the Nigerian leave Etihad Stadium won't come back to hunt them, hence, the Premier League title holders included a buy-back clause in the deal.

Surprisingly, the former Manchester City man hasn't justified his price tag two years after joining the King Power outfits.

His inability to score many goals, and inability to take little chances that come his way are one of the reasons why Leicester City fans are beginning to lose faith in his potentials.

The King Power faithfuls now hope to see new strikers rise up to the occasion in the upcoming season, and one of them is Nigeria-eligible striker Layton Ndukwu who currently plays for the Foxes U23 team.

Ndukwu, 20, isn't getting much game-time as he would have loved, no thanks to injury.

Nonetheless, he put up brilliant performances whenever he's called upon by coach Steve Beaglehole in the Premier League 2 competition. Three goals in seven appearances speak more of the youngster's prolific form in front of goal.

With Jamie Vardy in his early 30s and Iheanacho's dwindled form, it won't be out of place to suggest that the youngster could be the best player to replace Vardy in the long run.

However, the question is will the versatile Ndukwu succeed in the position where Kelechi Iheanacho couldn't live up to expectations? Only time will tell as we keep our fingers crossed and monitor situations.
