Liverpool-Owned Striker Awoniyi On The Radar Of Anderlecht, Club Brugge, Standard Liege, Genk
Published: April 05, 2019Taiwo Awoniyi's performances have not gone unnoticed since he rejoined Royal Excel Mouscron and the Nigeria U23 international is topping the wishlist of several Belgian First Division A clubs ahead of the reopening of transfer window.
According to La Dernière Heure, the Liverpool-owned striker is on the radar of Anderlecht, Club Brugge, Standard and Racing Genk.
KAA Gent are reportedly not keen on Awoniyi as he was not successful at the club in the first half of this season.
German Bundesliga club Schalke 04 have been linked with a move for the U17 World Cup winner with a transfer fee of 11 million euros mooted but according to the Brussels-based newspaper, the asking price is lower.
Liverpool had high hopes for Awoniyi when he was signed from Imperial Soccer Academy in August 2015 but he has yet to play a competitive game for The Reds because the lack of a work permit has been a barrier.
The 21-year-old has scored 10 goals and produced 2 assists in 32 appearances across all competitions this term.
