'New Onuachu' Shows Off Physical Ability As FCM Make History With Win Vs Man Utd U19
Published: March 13, 2019FC Midtjylland became the first Danish club to reach a UEFA Youth League quarterfinal after beating Manchester United 3-1 at the MCH Arena on Wednesday, March 13.
As for team news, Manchester United attack-minded duo of Nigerian descent Shola Shoretire and Mipo Odubeko were not in the matchday squad while Jibril Abubakar started for the Danish club.
The 1.93 meters tall Abubakar is a physically strong center forward and has been likened to Paul Onuachu in many ways but has a better technique and ball control though he does not score as many goals.
The Nigerian was penalized for seven fouls on Williams, Laird (2), Bernard, Garner (2) and Ercolani, without getting booked over the course of 86 minutes he was in action at the MCH Arena.
Midtjylland took the lead after 11 minutes through Gustav Isaksen but United's Angel Gomes equalised from the spot just past the half-hour mark, before two second half goals from Isaksen and Olsen secured a win for the Danish side.
Abubakar and his teammates will face Porto in the last eight of the UEFA Youth League on April 2/3.
